ABOUT TPW
WHO AM I, AND WHAT CAN I DO FOR YOU?
TPW is what I’ve always been called (my full name,
Tessa Parry-Wingfield, is rather verbose). Before TPW the
copywriter, I was TPW the journalist, and then communications
professional. A hunter turned game-keeper if you like. But the narrative thread that’s been woven throughout my career is writing.
I have written the Channel 4 News. I’ve reported on bullfighting, Bollywood and bombings for Al Jazeera English. And I’ve interviewed many politicians and celebrities – Quentin Tarantino and Julie Andrews, to name but a few. I’ve also worked on whoppingly successful comms campaigns for clients such as Guinness World Records, the Big Lottery Fund and Visit Denmark.
MY WRITING STYLE
I am journalistic in approach, but flexible in style. Attention-grabbing headlines, cleverly crafted copy and intriguing narratives are my main focus. All with target audiences in mind. And I am ruthless about jargon and waffle.
Clients often ask how I can turn my hand to their particular products or services. But after years covering different stories every day in the newsroom, I’m a chameleon. You name it, I can write about it. I can be informal and quirky, or shiny and sophisticated. But never, ever bland.
